Adobe After Effects.

In today lesson we had an introduction to After Effects a video editing software, this program is similar to premier another software made my adobe.

To Import a file go to [file] [import] [file] or [ctrl + I]

To make a new Composition(work space) go to

[Composition] – [New composition] or [Ctrl+N]

When setting your composition make sure that your FPS on your clip is the same as the FPS you set on the new Composition

If you’re doing something with a lot of files the best way of dealing with this is to create folders for example a folder for images and folder for movie clips and a folder for sound. The icon for making a new folder is found at the bottom of the project tab.

 To render you go to the preview window this converts it into “real time”.

Moving the orange/yellow tabs on the ends of Video clip changes

 the work area.

Adding effects.

In this print screen I have changed the hue/saturation of the image with effects.

 I did this by loading an image into my project.

Then creating a composition clicking and dragging my image into the workspace.

This was my original image. This is a sample image from windows.

Going to [effect] [colour correction] [hue/saturation] or the short cut key is [Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E]

Selecting the box colourise and changing the colour every five seconds, making sure you have the icon that looks like a stop watch is selected.

We then rendered the Clip making sure you select what you want to render then doing to composition, add render queue. Change the setting then pressing the render button.

Changing cherries from red to other colours.

Light flare and text sequence.
Today we made a Text sequence including a light flare we started by making a layer that was solid black on a new competition. Then with effects adding a light flare we then added text, over the text we placed a mask and changed then setting from add to subtract.
We made use the time-vary stop watch setting was on then went to 5seconds on the time line and changed the position of the light flare this made the light flare move, we also changed the brightness also so it looked as if it was coming in from the background and getting brighter.

This is just a draft, it need a little editing to get it right.

Animating Characters.

We picked a character of our chose and with the pin tool picked out the point where we wanted to bend for example the joints so the hand can wave

after this we clicked on the Layer of our character, clicked on the effects and pressed U this brought up all the different pins we names each effect so that it was easy to find what joint we wanted to move

After this we played around with this effect making out character do a short animation, I made mine dance for a little bit and wave. 

After making out character move we then changed her position By clicking out our layer then effect and pressing P this brought up the position setting and from there to you change the settings or just drag your character to the place you wanted you could also make your character Jump by moving the Gray bar and dragging the Gray dot upwards.  

Salina, Charlie & I's After Effects clip of our trails to the aquarium.  

This clip was made in Adobe After effects using photographs we had taken on the day. 

We went out into town, took photo's and documented what we thought where good communication's of  what direction the Aquarium was in.

Salina used special effects in adobe after effect to get the ripple effect in the background and experimented with other effects to get that out come.

Charlie and I photo shopped the images used in this clip

I created the story bored using everyone's idea's.

  

Visual communication Research.

Just by looking at this image alone you can tell that the woman is traumatised and upset, The image shows she is crying even if it is shown in an abstract form this portrays the fact she is depressed.

By watching this advert you can tell that this advert is about Santander "branching" out, (tress's have branches this is why a tree was used.) The tree is growing symbolising that the company is growing the speed of witch the tree is growing is fast this could also be communicating that the company is growing quickly too. The tree grows to a massive size perhaps to communicate that it will one day over shadow the competition.
